expesh disney ones, little mickey mouse soaps ;)Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
When they figure hotel rates, they set aside money to stock that kind of thing, so yes I do. You might as well, plus they are perfect for traveling or for when you accidentally run out of your favorite kind!Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
I don't...I don't use them either, I usually take my own stuff along.
Yes most of the time, they're part of the fees you paid to stay there and they will most likely throw them away if you used part of them.
I smuggle everything I can get away with... towels, bathrobes, soap, showercaps, soaps... heck I'd take the bath if I could ;)
Of course, they're plane-appropriate being 2.0 oz or under. Plus lotion is lotion is lotion anyway.
As long as I know I'm going to use them! I especially do when the hotel charges you over $150 to stay the night there....I gotta get my moneys worth!
Only if they are sample bottles and were placed there for me as a customer. Peace!
Yeah I do

I think everyone does

I take shower caps and towels to sometimes =0

I love the Bulgari line at the four seasons and ask for more of everything when I stay there. It's heavenly.Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
yeah, pretty much every time, I paid for them and usually I'll use them later when travelling, they are a good size. The hotels don't care, they expect it, in fact, if you use all of it and need more, they'll usually bring more for free upon request.
I have a ';lucky bar of soap'; that I always leave in the right pocket of my ski coat...

it was from the ski lodge, we had to go on a ';room tour'; and I just picked up the soap.

    The shampoos are crap.
ha no i usually use them all up by the time i leave and i never really think about taking them.. i have shampoo and conditioner at my house thank you very much lol and mine is better

    hahah yeah :)

but for a while we donated the not used ones to the domestic violence center so i don't feel so embarassed haha
I used too, until I went to beauty school and realized most of what hotels carry is junk, so no not anymore.
I'm a hotel cleaning maid and when people don't use the whole bottle I put it in my pocket and donate it.
They are there for you to take. I travel a lot, then I take them all to homeless shelters to give away.
I sure do. I paid for it I might as well take it and use it. You never know if your doing a over night trip it might come in handy lol = ) Love ya Sug xx
yes I do because we are collecting them to donate for homeless people.
I go 4 the bath towels

no,do you?if you did its no big deal...its free
I don`t waste my time with them babe! lol

Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?

Of course. I get an outrageous discount at this one hotel and I stay there all the time so I have about 30 tiny bottles of lotion and shampoo at home and 6 in my pulley cart. They are there for your use and I assume in a small way the price is worked into the rate so why not take it? happy new yearDo you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
I usually do. Depends on how good the hotel it was. If it was one of those crappy hotels then not usually. If its really good or just okay then usually. The more expensive the hotel the better the soap usually.

Even if its not that good I keep as spare. hahaDo you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
Yes. One time they had a really nice orange-scented shampoo and conditioner I never saw before in stores. I like the small bottles because they can come in handy if you travel and you can put other things in them once they're empty.
Yeah, some are actually good and it saves you money from having to buy new shampoo and conditioner in the future.
    If it's good shampoo, sure.

They usually say complimentary right on them. I mean, when they give complimentary pens, don't you take them?
Yup, but they usually suck! They make my hair tangled, though they smell really good!

If you have used up your previous supply. Generally they give new ones everyday. Are hotels supposed to bring you new soaps and shampoos everyday?

Do you ever steal the shampoos and soaps from hotel rooms?

all the time i dont know y but i do...Do you ever steal the shampoos and soaps from hotel rooms?
No. I took a towel by accident and was afraid the hotel was going to track me down and fine me. No, I don't steal- unless by accident and then I feel really guilty. I am really bad with pens and lighters because everything goes in my pockets but I try to give them back.Do you ever steal the shampoos and soaps from hotel rooms?
How can you steal what you paid for? It's included in the charge for your room so no you aren't stealing them. Now if you go inside other rooms and take those then yes I would say you're stealing them.
Yeah but it's ok, they're just going to throw it away and put fresh ones out when you check out anyways so it's really a waste not to
    Do you mean ';Do I keep the partially-used soap or shampoo, which would otherwise be thrown out when the room is made up?';

Of course I do my part to avoid this wasteful activity!
It's nor stealing. You are allowed to take them, and only if they are good shampoo cause they are nice travel bottles.
My mom does. She takes everything so the maid will put out more stuff, and then she takes that too. -_-'
    Never*
They put them there for you to use. They aren't there for decoration, you know.
LOL yeah. its not stealing, it's taking what the hotel has to offer
No, but I have gotten a damn good towel to dry my hair with though.
But who else can resist?! LOL!

They're just so tiny, hehehe! :D

Got a bunch in my bathroom closet cubby full!
Always. I pay for the room, so I pay for that with it!
    I don't think it's stealing...
    No i don't....
I collect them, never use them...
Yes, but it's not stealing. You did pay for that stuff when you paid for the room.
it's not stealing they are there for your use.
yeah, u paid for the room
No, I am not a freeloader.

Anyone know how hotels senitary process soap & shampoo...?

First of all.......HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007!!

Lots of people travel and stay in hotel during holiday time.

Every time I stay in hotel, I'd like to try the soap and shampoo.

(But I don't use motel's soap which dry your skin.....)

Have you ever thought how hotel process the used soap and shampoo? Generally we use hotel soap once and throw it. It could be a big waste to hotel and do they reproduce and repack the used soap? If they do....is it sanitary ...?Anyone know how hotels senitary process soap %26amp; shampoo...?
Soap and shampoos, coffee mugs towels, and sheets, and pretty much anything else used by a consumer in the hotel is replaced each time a customer rents a room. Soaps, shampoos and other personal objects are definitely thrown out. Coffee mugs, towels sheets etc, are all washed and replaced with clean.Anyone know how hotels senitary process soap %26amp; shampoo...?
ewww no we put clean unused soap in everyroom everyday no used soap ever .... i work for Holiday Inn Express...... I have never worked at a hotel that recycled its soap we throw the used soap in the trash now wether the homeless people around this area recycle it who knows Happy New Year
I have been a hotel general manager for 28 years and have never seen any recycling of soap, period. I have worked in mostly mid-scale and upper-scale independent and chain hotels, so I cannot speak for the lower-grade hotel segment. But I would not stay in any property where there was evidence they were doing this.
Yuck I would hope that no hotel would ever do that. When I worked as a housekeeper we threw out everything in the room and restocked. I would never leave shampoo or soap or anything in there whether it looked unused or not because you never know what people do with that stuff.
Happy New Year to you as well. I think that's a two parter for me. I saw a news report several years ago that showed a national hotel chain recycling soap. The soap was melted down, sanitized and processed for re-use. The report said the sanitation method was safe for reuse. Also I worked at a national hotel chain and I know for a fact they did not recycle their soap. They give smaller bars of soap and try to use liquid means where ever possible. I hope this helps. You can also always ask the hotel if they are recycling the soap, and if so, the housekeeping supervisor will be able to tell you.

absolutely! I work at a hotel so I know how little they pay for them and that yoru room stay is calculated to cover the cost of your breakfast, your toiletries, wear and tear on the pool and gym and all other ammenities and such. You are paying for them . I take them all when I stay at a hotel and request more. Im like send some more coffee packs up here, send some tissue, etc etc lol!Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
Yes, most of the time, they are for the guest anyway. That is why they are small and they only leave a few bottles in the bathroom. They know everyone does it. It is like a complimentary gift from the hotel.
I don't normally but the last hotel I stayed in just before Christmas I did because they were 75ml and Acqua Di Parma. I gave them to a friend who give them to his friend for his 40th Birthday.
    yeah,

    pretty much the only reason i stay at a hotel, free stuff like;

    towels

    shampoos conditioner

    soap

    lotion

ehhh...why not just take the bed while your at it.
yes, but I just use them for decoration or to wash things like curtains...except the ones I got from the Hilton...I washed my hair with those! lol
yes! I take everything, even the soap!
Lol yes, you are actually paying for them so why not haha?!

    nope.

why not,i paid for them ?

Do cruise lines give shampoo, soap, etc. like hotels do?

Yes, But it is not always the mini-soap bars and mini-shampoo bottles. Many cruise lines now have liquid soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower and they provide a mini-bar of soap for hand washing. The stuff they provide is generic no-name brands. So if you like to use a certain type of shampoo and/or conditioner, take your own. The cabin will have a hair dryer. You will need to take your own tooth paste, mouth wash, and other toiletries.

They will provide bath towels, hand towels and wash clothes and change those twice a day. They also provide pool/beach towels so you don't need to pack those unless you want to take your own. On some cruise lines the beach towels will be in your cabin, on others they will be available at or near the pools and hot tubs.Do cruise lines give shampoo, soap, etc. like hotels do?
Most cabin sizes on a cruise is not very roomy. I would say no more than 4 luggages. I would suggest maybe 1-2 bags and 1 carry on. From my Norwegian GEM cruise experience last 3 months, our room consisted of safe, closet, mini bar, drawers, standard small walk in shower, sink, toilet, bed (you can choose between big whole bed or 2 individual beds, flat screen tv, table, chairs, balcony.

My Cruise was very relaxing and wonderful. They had the best theatre that had nightly and daily shows. Wonderful shops. Tons of luxary dining experiences. Gaming arcade for kids. Kid lounges.

    Enjoy your cruise trip :]

Hope this helps a lot :]

Yes they do carry all the assories you need to enjoy your stay. Contact the room house keeper from your Cruise's phone to ask for anything else.Do cruise lines give shampoo, soap, etc. like hotels do?
    I am an experienced cruiser...

They do provide the soap and the shampoo, but most people do not like them that much. So you should bring your own. They do provide towels. They will probably make them into funny animals. So watch out. The cruise lines DO NOT provide tooth paste so bring your own.

    Hopes that helps!
Yes, they give tiny bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and soap, but it is not enough, so you will need to bring your own. They also sometimes give samples such as razors.
yes.....the shampoo and conditioner are in those soap like despensers they have in public bathrooms. I would recommend to bring your own shampoo and conditioner thoguh because it is not very good.
yes they do. nay case you can always buy in the next port if you want something spacial
yes they do. in those tiny little bottles which I find useless. bring your own.
    usually.

Do you take the little shampoos from hotels?

Have you ever taken more than the complimentary toiletries?Do you take the little shampoos from hotels?
Yes. I've gone into McDonalds and taken all of their salt and ketchup too. I was once very poor and had to eat Ramen noodles twice a day just to survive. We'd hit all the fast food restaurants for condiments. Ah, so nice now having some money. Worked along hard time to get here though.Do you take the little shampoos from hotels?
I have never taken anything except the disposables like hand cream, soap, shower caps, shampoo, and conditioners. The advertising on them works for the hotels and the samples work in my guest house.
    yes

yes, I've taken some pretty odd things including a lightfixture from the hallway of a place that I was not even staying in.... I was a young hellion once.

The last thing I took was a robe, I use it every day. lol
yeah you're supposed to take the stuff in there, that's what it's for. and if you don't take it, they just throw it out and get new stuff.
I took the coffee maker once.

I was shocked when no extra charges came up on my credit card. I guess the cleaning lady just didn't care and didn't make note of it.
Yeah, wow, this makes me feel great that iI am not the only one to do that.
    Yes
    No
lol no I never find that they are good brands or enough to wash my hair with. I usually bring my own.
Yea, but I never use them. I've taken some towels before too.

In Italian hotels do the bathrooms have soap, shampoo, conditioner, & lotions?

sure! even the bidet! In Italian hotels do the bathrooms have soap, shampoo, conditioner, %26amp; lotions?
I have never stayed in a hotel in Italy that did not have soap, the same would not hold true for hostels, B %26amp; B's, etc. I have found that if you pay about 70 Euros or so you will get shampoo and a conditioner, though their quality can be questionable.

Lotion is hit or miss. Many of the hotels also have a hair dryer though they are not as hot as what you find in the US.

I usually buy that kind of stuff when I am there, if the place I am staying does not have them. Otherwise I just use what is provided and take the things I like from one hotel to the next.In Italian hotels do the bathrooms have soap, shampoo, conditioner, %26amp; lotions?
All Hotels (although I just can talk about two or three stars; never been in one star's) do have soap and shampoo; conditioner and lotions, more rarely.
It really depends on where you are and how much you paid. In Rome for a place that's 70 euro a night, you will more than likely have it, but generally not in Sicily or Cinque Terra. With so many individually operated pensiones, hotels, rooms to let it's not dictated in 'corporate policy' but dependant on the mood of the owner that week!
Normally yes - but like anywhere else in the world it depends on the overall quality of the hotel.

Even in some quite expensive hotels you may find that any shampoo or soap provided is of poor quality.
some do, some don't...I always take my own
yes, or at least most of all have them....it depends on how much you pay..

Do you usually use the free soap and shampoo they give you at the hotels?

most of the time i bring my own shampoo, but i keep all the free stuff they leave in the bathrooms :)Do you usually use the free soap and shampoo they give you at the hotels?
keep it as a souvenierDo you usually use the free soap and shampoo they give you at the hotels?
Only if I forget my stuff. I still steal theirs though.
No, I wouldn't use that cheap stuff on my hair or body.
nope, it dries out my skin
I use it and take it home.
I always do. Better than using my own. When you're as poor as I am, pennies count.
I use it and take home what I didn't use.
I BYO shampoo and conditioners, but that won't stop me taking the hotel ones home. They come in handy on my most forgetful days.
    nope because its cheap

    and dosent work very good
No i always bring my own shampoo, soap etc but i only take theirs with me when i leave
lol..usually the hotels only give me the shampoo..and I need shampoo and conditioner so I bring my own..plus I don't really like hotel shampoo because it's not really good shampoo, and it smells weird.

Hi Claire, yes I always take them but very rarely use them! They're handy for when the kids go away though! :)

Do hotels reuse those little shampoo - conditioner - lotion bottles?

I don't think they reuse them. I hope not.

I know at restaurants they purchase large containers of catchup, salt, etc. and refill the small containers that are on the tables.

    SO

I wouldn't be surprised if hotels buy in large quantities and buy small bottles and fill them up.

Along with shampoos, conditioners and lotions, have you ever taken the complimentary plasma TV from a hotel?

Which hotel was it?Along with shampoos, conditioners and lotions, have you ever taken the complimentary plasma TV from a hotel?

Uhm, duhhh... like every time I go to a hotel! :D
Oh gosh someones been stealing um from our hotel lol....I give um credit pretty smart move

What do hotels do with empty shampoo bottles? Recycle? Throw out? Reuse?

I imagine it'd depend largely on the hotel itself.

    Reuse? No way!

They'd probably do the most cost-effective thing. What do hotels do with empty shampoo bottles? Recycle? Throw out? Reuse?
clean n refillWhat do hotels do with empty shampoo bottles? Recycle? Throw out? Reuse?
Throw Them Away Cause They Can Afford To.
Hotels throw them out.. they do not recycle
It would depend on the hotel and where it is. They are supposed to recycle if there is a recycling law.

We even take towels and stuff like that. We still have a towel with this big ';E'; on it from this one really nice hotel. The people didn't even notice! We were just carrying it out in the open to our car, and the counter people just look at it for a split second and then just smile and wave.

His face was like: ';Was....was that our towel...? O_O'; It was kind of funny to watch the confusion sweep across his face.

yes... and i love to order free samples of stuff i dont even need onlineDon't you love stealing the complimentary shampoos, lotions and big screen TVs from hotel rooms?
ya that's cool. i love people who steal big screen tv's from hotel rooms. they don't have big screnes when i'm in them but i'm poor. and anyways. ya even when it was a somewhat pricy room it wasn't big screen. this thing was 900 a night. that's expensive by my standards. i'd pay like nothing for a hotel room. i like a dingy place better. but that's just be. it's only about where you're comfortable

Do u take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from the hotel u stay at when u leave?

Yeah. I have stayed in hotels about 300 nights a year for over 5 years. I collect the soaps, shampoos, conditioners and lotions and donate them to Battered Women's Shelters and other homeless shelters. I have donated way more than a thousand items. I get letters from the people running the places telling how much the visitors appreciate these personal sized items. It's way better than having to share a huge industrial size shampoo bottle. Don't you think?

I figure that if I donated cash then someone would get it as a salary. I want my donations to go directly to the people needing it.Do u take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from the hotel u stay at when u leave?
i take them, and the soap, and the coffee, and the tea, and the glasses, and there pens, and the note paper, haha! do they really expect people not to take them? its not stealing, your already paying like 100 dollars a night for the room, so hey.Do u take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from the hotel u stay at when u leave?
They can not be re used, so you need to take them.

There is way too much waste in this country, and things are going to have to turn around before our land fills are overflowing with unused shampoo bottles......(sorry, got carried away)

    anyway..

You paid for them, why leave them?
No. I usually bring my own shampoo and conditioner as the ones provided at the hotels are usually not good. I have taken a pillow or two. =)
No. They usually have the worst and cheapest ones ever. I bring my own body wash %26amp; shampoo conditioner whenever I stay at a hotel.
No, because once you use them once or twice it's too hard to squeeze the shampoo out of the little bottles and I always drop them in the shower O_O
    I take everything (%26gt;^_^)%26gt;

(Lol once i even took the lightbulb from the table lamp)
Usually no because I use them. Sometimes though their bottles have those tops that I love and then I take those for lotions or travel etc.
    You caught me.

I take them if they say the name of the hotel on them or if the bottles are cute.
    SHAW!

But, my lil sis usually takes the hand soap, she says they look good to eat but she ends up just staring and smelling them
    I take everything
    Yes.

Just for a little token of a memory.
    No.

    They're usually crappy.
    Sometimes....
nooo... 99 cent shampoo is like pantene compared to hotel shampoo
Definitely! We bring them home then they go into the ';guest'; drawer in the guest bathroom!
By the time I leave, the bottles are already empty.
well...somtimes, but either ways, my dad takes them
    Always.
No because I don't use them, I can only use a certain type of shampoo or it irritates my scalp.
Sometimes I take soaps or lotion, if the hotel has good brands.
yea i put them in my guest bathroom and have them for when people stay over and forget toiletries
Yep, I also take the extra toilet paper rolls too. Gotta keep my place stocked somehow.
    no not ussually

I do - they are included in the price you pay for the hotel room so it is yours to keep. I like to use the good ones, but the lesser quality ones are still good for many things - my youngest daughter likes to use the bottles to play with in the bath tub and to use them when she plays house'; with her doll furniture. Or they can be filled to take with in my suitcase when I am traveling to relatives homes and don't want to take larger bottles.
Actually yes i do ! , their there for u to use so if u didnt use them why not take them ?, their free anyways and theres no sign that says u can't. I take them so i can keep them stored and remember oh ya this is where i stayed where i was ! just for memory ;) , there just so cute and miny.
yes, a lot of the time, they have awesome shampoo!

you are paying to use the stuff,

and it's not like they are going to use it for the next customer!

Yes and if you don't use that particular brand it is wonderful to donate to a nursing home or the VA hospitals. They appreciate all of the donations they can get.
Nah i dont touch those. like the only stuff i take is like lotion. cause if i use the hotel stuff, my hair gets all weird. :) i rather use my own.
Not usually because I don't really need them

But I stayed at this one hotel in Montreal that had products made specially for their hotel and the moisturizer was lime so me and my friend stole about 20 from the maid cart!
Only if it is really good stuff like Aveda. Most places just have something crappy like Pantene or a shampoo+conditioner in one. I bring my own and don't touch those.
    Depends on the hotel.

Why most hotels provide shampoo, soap, lotion but not toothpaste?

I think it's because the ';vending machine people'; have some kind of a contract with the hotels that say they can't so they can make some money. Half the hotels I've been in have coffee provided and not everybody drinks coffee. Toothpaste is a huge need, that's probably why.Why most hotels provide shampoo, soap, lotion but not toothpaste?
Most of the hotels I've been in have offered toothpaste. Why most hotels provide shampoo, soap, lotion but not toothpaste?
because 1. most people bring there own .. 2. everyone has there own taste .. and 3. if a guest needs it .. it doesnt' cost that much to get it at a convince store .. hope that answers your question*
A lot of them actually provide other things such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors etc but you have to call the front desk and ask and at one hotel, I actually saw a small travel kit in a vending machine!
Good question.....because most people are picky about their toothpaste but don't care about their shampoo?

It more likely is a result of the cost comparison. Shampoo, soap, and lotion are cheap compared to toothpaste most likely.
it depends where you go. lower priced hotels provide less because that's what you're paying for. higher priced hotels provide more because that's what you're paying for. that's pretty much all there is to it.
At some hotels if you go to the front desk you can purchase some for lyke 3 bucks...I used to work at the days inn ;0)
If you ask the front desk then they will most likely give it to you. It is more expensive. The chain hotels will sell it to you but the little ones most likely will have them for free.
Toothpaste isn't as cost effective as soaps.

What do hotels do with the unused soap and shampoo?

I used to be a cleaner in a hotel and we were told to leave it in there and just replace the used stuff. We had to inspect it properly to make sure it hadn't been used (as one answerer was worried that they would get used soap etc that had been replaced in its packet). It is easy to tell if it has been used so we could do our job without fear of leaving behind used products. There is no profit in throwing away perfectly good unused items (as we were told!)What do hotels do with the unused soap and shampoo?
They relabel them and put them in the same roomWhat do hotels do with the unused soap and shampoo?
They leave it there for the next people that are going to stay in the hotel so most of the time I just leave the bars of soap and shampoo alone! It could have been opened and just left there. The cleaners might mistaken it for a new one an leave it there. That is very unhygienic. But occasionally, they chuck it out.
I dont know what they do with them.

But i know what we can do, so no other people face problems.

Get rid of them as soon as we leave the hotel.
    recycle
    Chuck it.

What the heck would we want with it?
Generally its thrown out, to prevent cross contamination. Sometimes staff take it home, depends on the policy of the hotel. If the packet is unopened, some just leave it there for the next client.

Yes I do. I think since I'm paying for the room, some toiletries are complimentary. I take shower caps, pens and note pads. I have a collection as well :)
well i do steal their soaps and shampoos so ya i guess
To be perfectly frank with you, the last place we stayed had crappy soap, crappy shampoo and there was no conditioner to be found.

BUT, had it been good soap like at the fancy shmancy places I would so totally swipe it. And the facial tissues too.

    Mmmm, facial tissues.♥
Of course. Once you use it who's going to want to use the rest of it? I would hope if you leave it the maids just throw it away anyway.
No I just use it while I am there
    nope, crappy brands

    :)
Usually I don't use or even take the soaps, shampoos, etc. I don't like the brands they usually carry. I don't like what they do to my skin or hair. And since I rarely have guests in my home, there's no point in stocking them for the guests.
Hey u paid for it u mind as well take it!!
I don't like their shampoo, I'm quite picky, so they can keep it.
Okay, I confess too ! I think that's the only time I turn into a clepto ! I love those little soaps, shampoos, conditioners, etc.

Okay, Okay, I don't really like to talk about it but,,,,, my last trip to the Caribbean this past Xmas, I even stole a towel !

    (Hanging my head in shame)

Lord have mercy on me !!!
LOL, yeah, but only if it's worth it. I have a few hand towels and big towels, a coffee cup, and a napkin ring or 2..(okay, 5) too.

I take souvenirs from everywhere I go :-)
    Yes, usually I do.
Yep sure do. There not going to restock the rooms with half empty bottles of shampoo anyway, so its just going to get tossed in the trash.
towels maybe... I took a blanket once... one of those microfiber blankets...
    Nah... too much clutter.
Yes, I take everything but the shower cap. I'd never use that.
I do that but I do use the stuff. When I stay over a friends house. Go to a cheaper hotel, etc. I also use these items as back up when I forget to go shopping or when I go to the gym.
sure ...you have to...it's an unwritten law or something.
u think that is bad i have a relative (wont say who) that actually goes to the maids cart storage room at hotel and wipes them out ....so ghetto
yep, why not their free!!!? ♥
I'm not posh enough to stay in a hotel , it's B%26amp;B for me i'm afraid .. No goodies there . Not even the shower works properly :(

Do you think that the shampoo from hotels are for white peoples hair only?

I'm african american and i CURRENTLY have relaxed hair.

    I just might go natural

I LOVE WHITE PEOPLE SO DO NT GET THE WRONG IDEADo you think that the shampoo from hotels are for white peoples hair only?
shampoo is shampoo....Do you think that the shampoo from hotels are for white peoples hair only?
They use cheap shampoo, so it is not really good for ANYbody's hair. I would always suggest using shampoo made for your hair, in your case since it is relaxed, use one designed for chemically altered hair. Always bring your own shampoo on trips, you can get travel bottles to put it in so you do not loose an entire bottle of possibly expensive shampoo.
Depends on the hotel. Some of the upper chain hotels have decent shampoos and conditioners. I can not remember what chain of hotel, but everytime I went, I tried to collect as much of the shampoo, conditioner, and lotion thatr they would bring to my room. It made my hair feel like silk.

For those that do not know, shampoo is not shampoo. All shampoos are not for all types of hair. Shampoos that are not specifically made for African Americans, are not for us. It leaves our hair dry and brittle. That is why there is a specific maerket of brands that cater to different market segments,
Shampoo is shampoo. There are white people with thick frizzy hair too. Hotel shampoos vary by hotel. I had herbal essences once, some green tea stuff another time, but mostly it's some random stuff. Next time get the travel size for $1 or buy some of the travel containers for $0.50.
    Hi:

I know you can purchase shampoo for Black people but I thought shampoo is shampoo and its for everyone. No matter if you are Black, White, Chinese, Indian, etc.etc.

If hotels have shampoo its only for an overnight stay or so.
well it depends on that persons type of hair. i think that they just make the shampoo not to actually nourish and help grow your hair but to just put some gel in a bottle and add it to the room.
Why would you ask? All shampoo is almost the same. I have thicker hair, and sometimes need stronger shampoo. My hair is slightly oily too.
not its not just for white people only. I have never heard this one before and its quite different. I would say it is for all and i would use it regardless of the color who knows you may like it and buy it.
IDK, i really don't think so but hotel shampoo doesn't work for my hair anyway and i am white. i get tangles and it isn't as soft.
No, the shampoo is meant for everyone. Just because it's not a brand name that you know doesn't mean that it's only for white people.
    What's the wrong idea? But yeah it would make sense that they would have a shampoo for the ';Majority'; instead of the ';Minority';
if you LOVE white ppl so much...then why did you call them white instead of Caucasian and called YOURSELF african american ? like...seriously !
Whats the difference between a white persons hair and a black persons... the style?
I used to work in a hotel and I tell ya that shampoo isn't good for anyone's hair including white people,,that stuff leaves your hair dry and gross..

so don't worry your not the only one
I think your better off bring'n your own that stuff no good just drys your hair out ...im hispanic/white...it don't work for me i dont think its good for anyone ..i think they just put it there 2 b nice
Well i think all shampoo are meant for people. But lets just say that it be better if you buy your own shampoo.Cause hotel shampoo will mess your hair up
I have a red colored dog.. Hope I didnt kill it by using white people shampoo you idiot.
it's not for anyone in particular...it's crappy soap for anyone's hair
I'm white %26amp; i hate hotel shampoo. it makes my hair become gross and dry.

    :(
No, shampoo is made for all humans not races.
Wait I see no difference between white and black people's hair...
ugh i hate hotel shampoo... its not good for anytype hair
so true, hotel stuff stinks. but i dont think it caters toward white people
That stuff is horrible on any ones hair.
I'm white and I don't even think it's for my hair
omg why u so scared about what whites think screw them you hair is beatuiful the way is it dont try to be lik them everyone is fogetting who put is threw slavery
is there a difference in different races hair?
that stuffs no good for any hair.
    No
Yes it is ! I can't use it either, and I am hispanic.
all people can use it, but its not good. whenever my family travels, they keep their kit of all needful items.

  • Riviera Hotel and Casino LV? Shampoo, Conditioner, Lotion, do they have it?

I will be staying there in September but I don't know if they have shampoo and conditioner. I'd really like to know what brand they have, if they do have any. I have color treated hair so I can't use generic brands.

Also, do they have lotion? Stuff like that?

It's not that I mind taking my own, but this will be my first time flying and I am a bit worried about packing things that they'll end up not letting me take on board.

Thanks in advance!Riviera Hotel and Casino LV? Shampoo, Conditioner, Lotion, do they have it?
I have stayed there before and at that time they did have the small sample size things. I didn't use them. There is a gift shop there and they sold all kinds of things, but they weren't that cheap.

We were able to take 3 oz. liquids in our carry ons as long as they all fit in one quart sized zip lock bag. I would just check the airline's website to see what you are allowed to take. The ones at the hotel were just cheap. I recommend bringing your own.Riviera Hotel and Casino LV? Shampoo, Conditioner, Lotion, do they have it?
No the shampoo and conditioner is just ordinary kind, filled by disabled folks. It is a generic brand.

Usually there is a very small bottle of lotion too

To take any liquid on plane you need a quart ziplock bag, and the size is 3 ounces or less. Just go to the store like Walgreens, CVS, Walmart and they have them. BTW that includes perfume and deoderant
I am sure every hotel room has shampoo and conditioner. If it's not in the room, you can always ask for them. You should bring your own stuff if you don't like generic. Either pack them in your check-in bags, or put them in 3 oz bottles all of which must fit in one single quartz size transparent ziplock bag as carry-on.
Go to the nearest Walgreens/ CVS store and buy your own brand.

Casino brands are so drying and tangle up my hair! I think they use the cheapest harshest ingrediants.

Some say body wash/shampoo on same label.

Get to a Target and buy up some trial size shampoo/condtioner I usually see Clairol in the medium blue.
The best thing is to wait and when you get here just go to Walgreens or CVS along the strip and purchase the smallest size of your favorite brands. They do have a large selection of travel size toiletries. That is what I do now a days.
I would not count on it these days.

Most of the lower quality hotels ussualy have those shampoo/conditioner in one things. And its ussualy awful stuff. You should just bring your own.
there is a walgreens like 50 ft. from the riviera.

Should I trust the complementary shampoo & conditioner at hotels?

Going to a hotel and will be showering in my suite. Should I bring my own to avoid damage to my hair? Or should I trust them and use them anyway?Should I trust the complementary shampoo %26amp; conditioner at hotels?
Although I love my own special hair shampoo and conditioner, I love using the ones that the hotel provides just b/c it gives me more of a get-away feel. Thats the joy of the vacation! Idk thats just me.. but yea most of them buy theirs from Neutrogena, so it's safe and definitely useable! ;)

G'luck (:Should I trust the complementary shampoo %26amp; conditioner at hotels?
I personally would bring my own just because the hotel ones don't have the ingredients on them (I like to see what kind of ingredients are in my shampoos and conditioners. I would definitely take the complementary shampoo and conditioner home to use for like shaving or whatever.
I would def bring my own shampoo and conditioner to the hotel because not all those shampoos are real shampoos meaning hair-care types. So, def bring your own stuff. I mean you bring your own clothes so,..why not do the same for personal items like shampoo
    dont trust them

Does anyone know what shampoo Bill Kaulitz from Tokio Hotel uses?

Dumbass question, I know, I know.

    Just curious.

xDDoes anyone know what shampoo Bill Kaulitz from Tokio Hotel uses?

he just says he gets his products from local drugstores, which is total BS. :PDoes anyone know what shampoo Bill Kaulitz from Tokio Hotel uses?

What do most hotels do with unused shampoo and soap?

I always thought it would be a waste to throw away bars of soap and have empty shampoo bottles. What measures do most hotels and motels do to recycle them? What do most hotels do with unused shampoo and soap?
think they throw it outWhat do most hotels do with unused shampoo and soap?
They throw it away, why don't you ask them if they will give it to you?
I think they throw them away.
They throw them away. That would be disgusting if they recycled them. I would not want to use them if I knew they were recycled.
No measures taken to recycle.... It is cost of doing business. It goes into the Garbage. Can't recycle everything because of hygiene reasons... Would you like you Shampoo bottle to be refilled from other ppl's leftover? What if they had dropped their Shampoo in the toilet?

Why do hotels have soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion available in the rooms but NO TOOTHPASTE?

I wondering why they don't put out toothpaste. Why do hotels have soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion available in the rooms but NO TOOTHPASTE?
Most of the hotels I've stayed do have toothpaste. Albeit very small tubes, enough for one, maybe two, squirts maximum, but they do have it.Why do hotels have soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion available in the rooms but NO TOOTHPASTE?
you have to go ask for it, that's something you should have anyway...and if you went to the hotel and there was a tube of toothpaste would you use it? I wouldn't no safety cap on toothpaste anyway, I would be afraid that somebody had put something in it.
Probably because it is more expensive and they know you will take it home with you, unlike that cheap *** shampoo and conditioner they have to offer.
They do. Stop going to highway motels and you'll find it.
I don't know why they do that, but I do know that if you go the concierge desk you can ask for toothpaste and a toothbrush and they will give it to you. maybe it's more expensive to put it in every room than to just give it out ot those who ask.
Most hotels have toothbrushes and paste -you just have to get it at the lobby or call for it-like extra pillows. Most people bring their own and I think maybe as its goes in your mouth and is a more personal choice than lotion or shampoo?
LOL...I've wondered the same exact thing!
I'm sayin'...that's what I always need too. I have my own shampoo etc but I always end up leaving the toothpaste for my bf to use while I'm away and forget to pick up one of those little travel size ones.
You can usually get toothpaste and a razor from the front desk or a vending machine at a hotel. If you ever forget anything, ask the front desk. Once they even had a pair of socks for me!
Dentists are giving out all of those miniature tubes of toothpaste.
yeah that is crazy. I never even use the other stuff.
I KNOW!!! lol one time me, my friend her mom, and her moms friend went to a hotell. we ALL forgot toothpaste!! luckily my friend had a few brush-ups =]
haha should make a feedback form n suggest to them
Because people tend to rotate towards things that cost less.

There are plenty of soaps and stuff that are cheap but look expensive, while a cheap tooth paste looks and tastes cheap.

    And cause their idiots.
Because Sometimes They might Forget To Change and It Could Be All Dirty And Some People usually bring there own toothpaste my opinion is i wouldn't use it because you don't no where it's been

    xxx
they stuff that you mentioned is all necessary but toothpaste is something that you can bring.
nonsense! i've been travelling many times and when i was stayed at hotels, there were some toothpastes!

(probably because we're in the different country, lol)
thats a flippin good question! stupid hotels
    you can request toothpaste
I guess it's because the toothpaste is kinda expensive since at the hotels they replace the used things with new things, those small soaps, those little shampoo packets are for one use then you put it in the trash, but the toothpaste is something else, it isn't for a one use only, it at least leasts for a week, if you used a bit of it what'll you do to the rest?

    that's the problem, that's what I think!
I think its because you cant see if the people who stayed in the room prior have filled it with something else, and as for housekeeping, they cant take that risk and would have to throw seemingly full toothpaste tubes away...?
pfff! what are you talking about, all the hotels i stay at have every thing including toothpaste, condoms, heated floors, bubble bath, and a mini fridge stocked with mini bottles of champagne!
They don't put out tooth brushes either..They are personal things that you would want to have your own..
For hygienic reasons. You use toothpaste for your mouth, right? So, toothpaste is like a personal belonging thing for most people.
probably something to do with the price and the spreading of germs.
good question..maybe because some people will be allergic..

The ';consumables'; such as small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, the small tubes of toothpaste, the small bars of soap are all complimentary, as is any food placed in the room. Toilet paper is not usually complimentary. Some upscale hotels also offer small grooming kits, and these would most likely be complimentary.
Shampoo/soaps and the like are ok. The coffee and teas are ok.

The bathroom cups, pillows and towels are considered theft and the hotel WILL charge your credit card if you take them. We brought a sitter on vacation with us and she took a pillow from the kids room and we were charged $125 for it.(obviously not what is was worth..but they can do it)

Go to your salon and ask the hair stylist, they may be able to recommend a product. You could probably just call them too and I'm sure they could give you advice over the phone.

And from now on remember - never use hotel soap/shampoo. The person who stayed there before you could have been a big jerk and put something different in the bottle (like nair), the hotel staff doesnt throw away the bottles that arent used.

    Its the same as not using the salt and pepper shakers at a resteraunt...you never know when some high school doofus spit in it for ';fun.';

What happens to the soap, shampoo, and conditioner from the hotel after you checkout?

I want to know if housekeeping must throw them out after each guest or if these items appear not to be opened leave these items (soap, conditioner, shampoo) there for the next guest in the hotel room.

Here's why I ask. There's a homeless man near where I work. He's there every day and has been for the the five years I've worked here. Yestarday I gave him the soap, conditioner and shampoo from a recent hotel stay (I put them in a Zip-Lock sandwich bag). He looked at them, thanked me and said, ';Great idea.'; I drove away.

So I don't want to take these items from the hotel unless they have to throw them away after each guest. What happens to the soap, shampoo, and conditioner from the hotel after you checkout?
Yes, after each guest, everything that is remotely disposable is thrown away. Don't worry, you are doing a good thing. Plus, even if they didn't throw them away, I'm sure a hotel has more to lose than a homeless man. What happens to the soap, shampoo, and conditioner from the hotel after you checkout?
You have paid for the items in the cost of the room, you are not stealing anything. Nice idea.

They do not throw them away but you have paid for them.
I bet that they rewrap it and reuse it for the next person. It is the way to save money. I mean you don't throw away your shampoo and soap after every wash and get a new one....Think about it!
I used them or take them when I travel for short trip. Great what you do, God bless you.
    Soap - thrown out

Shampoo - thrown out or refilled

    conditioner - thrown out
its okay to take them beacuse after u leave they usaly throw them out so it ok 2 take them
i think that is a great idea the man must be thank full that you are there to help him

im sure that the hotel throws them away after each stay because they don't know if the people spit in them or not ....or you could just tell them about your situation they can tell you...............good luck
yeah well sometimes they might throw them away or they might also give them to the housekeeping staff who i think pocket them.. :D hehe life is weird out there but that is what i think might happen to them.. enyways we always go to the cart and take more and put them in the bag when the cleaner is cleaning the room and cant watch us.. its kool though.. :D
They were left there for you to use, so you may take them with you when you leave.
I've heard of some organizations that collect them from travelers and give them to women's shelters. Another good idea.

For what little expense the shipping could be, you could consider it as a way of helping out a friend. Who knows, it could be a neighbor or even your own son or daughter that receives the items. You each could even write a small letter to the soldiers so they know we are constantly thinking of them and their well being. Now, the problem is, that I can not seem to have much luck in finding a person who has an address to a unit or even a soldier to send these to. If even one could receive these items, they could be the one to spread them around to the others in his unit or that around him or her. Please help, I know how little this is, but it is all I have to give and they could use them, I just know it in my heart. How do I find an American Military Unit that are In Country, to send Donated Hotel items like shampoo/soap to?
Send it in care of your local Red Cross chapter. They have regular ';care packages'; that are mailed to the troops overseas or if you know of a specific National Guard unit or reserve unit in your area that is going overseas, you could donate it to them. That's a very generous offer you are doing...How do I find an American Military Unit that are In Country, to send Donated Hotel items like shampoo/soap to?
